Based on a reoccuring dream I used to have; would always wake up from what seemed like a deep sleep finding myself exposed and lying on the earth in an Oak forrest. Feeling cold, wet and hopelessness overwhelm me. The trees tell me in a whispery voice to follow the path right before me and so I do. The path leads to a small village made up of unpainted field stone houses and wooden roofs. It is a time and place that I do not know when nor where. The road is nothing but soil which turns to mud as I walk making it challenging to move the feet. There's a slight drizzle of rain but not enough to wash everything off me.
As I'm entering the village unknown spirits look away too ashamed to make eye contact, go inside their houses close their doors and even shut the windows. Noone will help and it is clear that they want me to leave.
Suddenly the mud gets too deep to walk, it goes past my knees making me slide down a hill in the middle of the village eventually landing my face into the mud which then gets into my mouth...I remember how much I could taste the earth and how awful it was especially knowing that it came from this village of hostility (this is also how real the dream would feel to me). I finally give up when someone comes from behind a stone barn and without a hint of judgement motions for me to follow him. I get up out of the mud and go near him and discover that he is myself only much younger. I start following him back to the forests knowing that he will somehow help me...if he can...
